About Me

My name is Danny Mui. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who specializes in sex therapy. Sexuality is a topic that is often left unspoken and can feel so alienating; however, it is just as important as any other aspect of our health. My desire is to form a collaborative therapeutic relationship in which you are provided the opportunity to uncover and understand the stories you’ve buried in order to allow yourself to be truly seen. The world will often remind us that our differences are something to be ashamed of, whether we want it to or not. Let’s work together on identifying what is meaningful to you, for you, because you matter.

I obtained my Master of Social Work Degree from Bridgewater State University. My earlier experiences were in the mobile crisis and acute inpatient psychiatric settings. Over the past two years, I have transitioned to individual and relational work specifically focusing on sex therapy (with special interests including working with those within marginalized communities around topics of consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, desire discrepancies, shame, intimacy, sexual health, sexual identity, problematic sexual behaviors, sex work, kink, and BDSM).

I strive to empower my clients to cultivate the life they hope for. To meet you with an open heart and open mind is one of my main goals. Together we can explore the aspects of yourself you’ve decided were best left unspoken. I encourage you to question why that is and whether that is still serving you in this moment. I strongly believe that everyone has the ability to grow, utilizing both positive and negative experiences from their past to move into a healthier, more genuine version of themselves.

My approach is eclectic, using a culturally competent and holistic trauma-informed lens to pull from different modalities, such as cognitive behavioral, narrative, mindfulness-based interventions, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based therapy, which allows me to adapt to what is needed in the moment. I invite you to join me on this mindful journey in finding our way to live with intention.
